#28 of All of the Things- Business Boutique Podcast

mobile-605422_640

I found a new podcast that I’m really enjoying and it’s motivating me like crazy and teaching me all kinds of great new things.  It’s called Business Boutique with Christy Wright.   If you have a small business, or you are thinking about starting one, then you will really get a lot out of this, but even if you aren’t you probably will enjoy it just the same.  I’ve been learning some great things that I’m using for my blog.  It’s helped me in figuring out my motivation, getting me through my start up slumps, and given me some great tips about social media.  Christy’s also a Dave Ramsey Personality which means she’s super smart about money, which I really admire. Guest Post #1

Hi all!  I’m really excited today because Nicole at My Uninspired Blog  is posting one of my posts today on her blog! Her tagline is: Creating a thriving community of twenty-somethings.  I’m not exactly a twenty-something anymore but I hang out with a lot of them from my Brunswick days so I feel right at home.  My post is about a great TED Talk I found about getting stuff done even when you are depressed.  It would mean a lot to me if you would check it out!  Let me know what you think.

I’m looking for guest bloggers to start posting guest blog posts on my page. If you have a favorite book, podcast, website/blog, video that has taught you something, motivated you or inspired you in some way, and you’d like to do a guest blog post, let me know.

#27 of All the Things- The Happy Secret

Do you have 12 minutes to do something great for yourself? Something funny and inspiring that could potentially change your life? Then you should watch the TED Talk The Happy Secret to Better Work by Shawn Achor.  It’s an amusing talk about the power of positive psychology that teaches you how and why you should strive for happiness now instead of thinking that you’ll be happier when you achieve that next milestone.  Continue reading “#27 of All the Things- The Happy Secret”

#26 of All the Things- Cesar Millan

This is our dog, Elsa. She is a goofball.  She’s sweet and adorable which bodes well for her life expectancy because she is also sometimes naughty. She’s a 1  1/2 year old American Bulldog puppy.   She loves to chew things that she shouldn’t, like chapstick and headache spray and wart gel!     Continue reading “#26 of All the Things- Cesar Millan”

#25 of All the Things- You Are Here

IMG_20170313_081029080

*This blog post was a big fat fail.  A couple of weeks ago I was trying to schedule this post for today and accidently hit publish.  (Any of you bloggers done that before?) I changed it right away to the correct day but of course it was sent out via email to all my email followers.  So, yes, this a post you’ve already seen  before.  But, I decided to add something new on the bottom so that it wouldn’t be the exact same post that you’ve already seen.  Jenny has a great blog so I decided to find some of my FAVORITE blog posts of hers and post the links so you can laugh along with me.  Thanks for be patient even while I make mistakes!

Here’s the original post:

It’s no secret that I adore Jenny Lawson (The Bloggess) and her newest book, You Are Here does not disappoint!  It’s part inappropriate self-help and part beautiful coloring book.  It takes you on a tour of Jenny’s sometimes broken but mostly amazing mind. #SundayBlogShare #3

It’s time for #SundayBlogShare.  I want this to be a place to find new great blogs and also for bloggers to get to know each other.

These are the 2 posts I found that I like best for this week:

  • Let’s End the Mom Wars | lisaorchard A thought provoking article about moms:

P.S.  I got the idea for this type of post from the blogging Facebook group I recently joined called Big Up Your Blog.  I encourage you to check it out if you are a blogger.  It’s a really great group.

Any blog posts I should know about?  Please share!

#23 of All the Things- Smart Money Smart Kids

Money is a complicated subject and can be so overwhelming.  Especially if we feel like we don’t have enough! Wouldn’t it have been great if you were taught about money as a kid?  How awesome would it be to have development good money habits from a young age?  If your parents taught you good money skills, good for you and good for them!  More often than not, I think that wasn’t the case, though.  My husband and I were overwhelmed and in debt and found Dave Ramsey (see #15 of All the Things) and I’m proud to say our new money attitude has helped us turn our finances around!  Now, I want to change my family tree and teach my kids how to handle money.  The book Smart Kids Smart Money; Raising the Next Generation to Win with Money by Dave Ramsey and Rachel Cruze is helping me do just that. #22 of All the Things- The Shared Experience of Absurdity

I really want to visit New York so that I can  do cool things like a no-pants subway ride or dress in blue polo’s and khakis and stand around Best Buy with 80 other people! If this sounds fun to do or fun to watch, you need to check out the TED Talk: The Shared Experience of Absurdity by Charlie Todd.  It’s hilarious and I’m such a sap, I cried a little when Rob made a subway transfer fun.  Watch this 12 minute video and see for yourself: Continue reading “#22 of All the Things- The Shared Experience of Absurdity”
